CWM CONFERENCE

The Church @ Christ’s Checkpoint

September 13-16, 2012

Paul Wilkinson, Paul Cohen, Lionel Letcher, Lawrie Cornish, Bob Bailey, Mark Mullins, Philip Powell and Aeron Morgan are the speakers that will participate at the 2012 Conference

This year there will be three new speakers – two from New Zealand and one from Australia joining some of the regular team in supporting Paul Wilkinson our guest speaker from UK.

Lawrie CornishLAWRIE CORNISH is principal of his own accountancy firm. As member of a large Elim Church in Wellington he created a sensation by placing an advertisement in a National newspaper offering a large sum of money to anyone who could prove the genuineness of claimed miraculous tooth filling. A TV programme later exposed several claims as scams. Lawrie looks after our CWM Trust in New Zealand. The burden of his message is Christian Maturity based on Hebrews 5:12 - “when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles.”

Paul CohenPAUL COHEN, Australian director of Ariel Ministries, was born in the Netherlands in 1963. His Jewish father had rejected God during the Shoah (the Holocaust). After finishing High School in 1983 he lived in Israel where he spent a brief period in Yeshiva (Jewish Theological College) and where he met his Australian wife Sue and later immigrated to Australia. Sue became a believer in Yeshua (Jesus) in 1984 and was instrumental in Paul becoming a believer in February 1987. Two years later they became home study group leaders. In 1992 Paul was elected president of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of Australia and later became an officer of the International Messianic Jewish (Hebrew Christian) Alliance (1992 - 1994). The theme of his messages at the CWM Conference will be Meeting the true Messiah @ Christ's Check Point.

Bob BaileyBOB BAILEY was saved in 1962 and has been involved in Christian work ever since. In 1975 he and his wife Helen went to work in South Africa with the All Africa School of Theology printing text books for the correspondence courses, marking English exam papers and teaching in pastors' seminars in Botswana, Lesotho and Venda Land. When they returned to NZ Bob became pastor for the next 20 years in two Auckland churches, one of which he and Helen pioneered, before moving to rural Te Kauwhata in North Waikato to pastor a local community church retiring 3 years ago. Bob continues to speak in various churches and house meetings. His theme will be Meeting Christ @ the Check Point when our Race is Run.

Thanks Irene,
Yes you are right in fact in two weeks time I'll be preaching a message on "The Life of Repentance", Nd it just so happens that I was studying Mr Prince's theology over the weekend. He is certainly the latest strategy of the devil to damn as many as possible to a simple faith without life transformation. I can see article of this man's ministry being featured.
Thanks for the alert.

The condition of the Church I see is of vital importance to you. For two Sundays running, on Aust. Christian Television, Joseph Prince has blatantly preached another gospel. It is so dethroning of Christ and enthroning of believers (maybe him?)that we were horror-struck. We have always noticed the wrong features of his sermons, not that we have listened to them all. Hundreds of millions watch and listen as they do in Australia. I wonder if someone from your staff could catch on to this and report on the preachings of this one. I believe he is one who comes "as an angel of light", worse than just a false teacher as all of the others in the Charismatic and Pentecostal scene on T.V. world-wide are - some in a small way others almost total. Do you not think that it is important that those believers who will read your report, will then gain a Scriptural insight and answer for them to spread around to their friends and relatives - even pastors and churches? You could never believe what we have been hearing. We listen to see the errors and refute them. Better than going to any church round here!
